Definition

What the terms mean.

A 3K carbon fiber laminate sheet is a cured CFRP panel that can use visible 3K twill surface plies and project-defined inner reinforcement. It is different from a pultruded CFRP plate used in structural strengthening systems.

Selection advice

How engineers and buyers should choose.

01

Provide a drawing and required thickness rather than selecting from appearance alone.

02

Define whether the 3K twill surface is needed on one or both faces.

03

Confirm matte, glossy, sanded or peel-ply finish before quotation.

04

State flatness, thickness tolerance, holes, countersinks, edge condition and protective film needs.

05

Keep structural strengthening plate specifications on the separate strengthening-system page.

FAQ

Common technical questions.

Is a thicker carbon plate always stiffer?

Geometry and thickness strongly affect stiffness, but the actual result also depends on fiber orientation, layup, resin, supports and load case. Engineering validation is required.

Is 3K laminate sheet the same as pultruded strengthening plate?

No. They use different product definitions, manufacturing routes and application controls and should not be substituted without engineering review.
